In search of the perfect slice of ‘za? I’ve got you covered for your next New York pizza fix.

If you’ve ever visited a pizza joint in NYC, you’re probably familiar with the phrase that “you can’t find better pizza anywhere else in the country that measures up to New York pizza”. Well, call me crazy but I absolutely refuse to believe I have to travel across state lines for my pizza fix. The triangle is filled with so much diversity, authentic cuisine and is a foodie’s paradise. So, I’m definitely up for the challenge! Here are some of my recent favorites I found while in search of the perfect slice of “za”.

Megan’s favorite New York pizza places and more.

JOHNNY’S PIZZA

Johnny from @johnnyspizzanc is basically famous in my hometown of Wake Forest. I’m pretty sure the people there would vote for him for president. I would too, after seeing how much Parmesan cheese they put on their garlic knots. Yes, cheese is that important to me. Don’t judge me (Locations in wake forest, Cary, and Apex).

PIZZA AMORE WAKE FOREST

Y’all know I had to stop by my favorite pizza place when I visited Wake Forest last night! If you haven’t tried Pizza Amore yet, it’s time to rethink the decisions that led you to this point and make them right.

PERI BROTHERS PIZZA

Have you ever had a cheese-stuffed garlic knot? I hadn’t until I tried them at @peribrotherspizza and y’all my life is changed. This family-owned pizza joint in Raleigh is a gem! In addition to these beautiful, stretchy, cheesy flavor bombs, we got pizza, pasta, and cannolis. The pizza was NY style with thin crust and it was great! The pasta was penne a la vodka which is one of our favorites and theirs includes bacon and ham so we were thrilled about it. The cannolis were some of the best I’ve had and they even brought Dean a mini one! He was a big fan. The nicest owners, delicious food, fun atmosphere. These guys are winners in my book.

TAZZA KITCHEN

I’ve been wanting to try @tazzakitchen for a long time and we finally did last night! It became an instant favorite. We got the spicy sausage and black pepper honey pizza and the kale salad with chicken. The pizza was amazing, that honey was the perfect touch
