The Omni Grove Park Inn is an award-winning resort and spa in Asheville NC that blends history, relaxation, and luxury. It stands overlooking the Blue Ridge Mountains like a castle and makes guests feel like royalty. Built in 1913, it has hosted many notable politicians and celebrities over the decades and you’ll feel like one of them (I sure did!)

I’ve now stayed at the Grove Park Inn twice and they were some of my favorite trips I’ve ever taken in North Carolina. I’m writing this blog to serve not as an all-encompassing guide (there’s WAY too much to experience in just a couple nights!) but rather as a review of my time there.

An Enchanting Setting
The Grove Park Inn has been a staple destination in North Carolina for over a century. When you pull up to the front entrance, it’s easy to imagine honeymooners in the 1940s arriving in their convertible Cadillacs.

While the property feels like a step back in time, it also manages to remain luxurious by today’s standards with its constant upkeep and additions. I appreciated that I was given a glimpse into 20th century architecture without worrying the floors would fall out from under me!

In addition to the sprawling building made of giant stone, the grounds themselves are truly immaculate and the view overlooking the mountains is breathtaking. You can even see the downtown Asheville skyline in the distance!

There are various room and building options when booking a stay. You can choose accommodations in the original building or choose the newer add-on. I have stayed in each and loved both—one for the historic charm and the other for a newer feel.

Let’s talk about the award-winning spa at Grove Park Inn!
The spa, y’all. It’s something special. 43,000 square feet of tranquility with cavernous rock walls, mineral pools, waterfalls, 6,500 fiber optic “stars” and even underwater music.
I’ve never experienced anything quite like the subterranean spa here and it is truly one of a kind.

You can book a treatment (highly recommend doing this in advance!) or purchase a spa day pass which gives you access to the amenities and pools.

An important note: electronic devices are NOT permitted in the spa and this rule is strictly enforced. I was given special media access to the spa before it opened to the public, allowing me to shoot photography for my coverage of the hotel.

Don’t forget about the free pool and other activities!
Many people don’t realize that the spa is not the only available place to relax poolside! From Memorial Day to Labor Day, their outdoor pool is open for guests and it is stunning! There is also an indoor family pool in the sports complex.

Also available at the resort: golf, tennis, fitness club, and shopping. I love stopping into the marketplace for souvenirs, snacks, and coffee.
The onsite dining at the Grove Park Inn is convenient and delicious!
I LOVE resorts with onsite dining. It’s so nice to stay somewhere with everything you need in one place. The restaurants at the Grove Park Inn are truly exceptional and worth a visit even if you’re not an overnight guest! There are quite a few dining establishments in the hotel and the few that I’ve tried blew me away.
We visited Blue Ridge each morning for their breakfast buffet and let me tell you, it’s the best one I’ve ever had the pleasure of experiencing. The food was just wonderful! There’s nothing like sleeping in and then enjoying a custom omelette bar, yogurt station, and waffles while enjoying the view from the wall of windows. Heaven, I tell you.

Blue Ridge also has a seafood buffet on Friday nights and prime rib buffet Saturday nights. These are both now on my bucket list too!
The Sunset Terrace provides an outdoor dining experience you’ll remember forever. The menu is expansive and boasts steak and seafood options, small bites, craft brews, and wines. The view is the best at the resort and the sunsets here are spectacular.

I also love stopping into The Edison, a stylish eatery inside the resort that totally encapsulates the vibe of Asheville. It’s artsy and innovative, the cocktails are creative, and the farm-to-table food is an experience itself.

After 8:30pm, you can enjoy Elaine’s Dueling Piano Bar! It’s a fun time for guests 21+ to enjoy music, comedy, and drinks.
The Omni Grove Park Inn is an icon everyone should experience at least once!
I’m sure you can see why I love this hotel so much, right? If you have the means, I beg you to plan a stay. If it’s not quite in your budget, that’s okay! You can still go experience the property and grab a drink overlooking the mountains.

As I mentioned, this resort is huge with countless things to do and eat. Did I miss one of your favorite Grove Park Inn amenities? Comment to let me know so I can add it to my to do list for my next visit!
