We recommend
- Arrive in the morning or evening to give flowers the best chance to stay fresh while you pick (and it’s the best time for photography too!)
- Plan to wear shoes that you don’t mind getting a little muddy as it rains often in the mountains making the dirt on the farm wet.
- Fill your vase or bucket with all the gorgeous blooms that you can!
A quick twenty minute drive north from Asheville will bring you to The Never Ending Flower Farm, a gorgeous family-owned property that allows you to pick your own flowers. From May through October, seasonal flowers of many varieties bloom on the farm, painting the landscape with vibrant colored dots that stand out against the green mountain behind them.
What you can expect from The Never Ending Flower Farm.
The farm is open to visitors every day from 8am to 8pm for you-pick as well as photography sessions. The owners have set up a system for patrons to self-pay because they aren’t always there to manage the fields. When you arrive, you’ll find a table set up with instructions, ways to pay (including check, cash, Venmo, and Paypal), sheers inside of a mailbox for you to borrow, and vases and buckets filled with water for you to keep. Vases are $25 and buckets are $75.
Once you have your sheers and vase, you’re free to roam the grassy mountain-side in search of the perfect blooms. You’ll likely hear the farmer’s chickens and donkeys say hi as you explore the property and fill your vase with vivid blossoms.
Visiting the Never Ending Flower Farm is a bucket list item for any NC mountain trip. It is a unique, whimsical experience that is both affordable and enjoyable. Picking flowers on a mountain makes for a romantic date, fun family activity, girls night out, or any other occasion. Visit, support a family-owned farm, take some lovely photos, and appreciate the beauty of North Carolina!
