As the world’s largest furniture store, Furnitureland South can be an overwhelming experience (in the best way!) and a design consultant helps tremendously. The best part? They’re completely FREE to use.

I had the chance to go through the design consultation process with Moochee Lee, and I was thoroughly impressed. Every single employee I’ve met at Furnitureland South has been an absolute pleasure to work with, so his kindness came as no surprise to me. What I didn’t expect was how helpful it would truly be!

Through this process, there were a few details in particular that made my experience a memorable one. These are the reasons I loved working with a design consultant, and why I believe you will too!

I need extra help as a mom!

Furniture shopping takes on a different perspective when you have little ones running around the house. I’m constantly caught between needing new furniture and not wanting new furniture out of fear my kids will just ruin it again!

I was so excited to learn that almost all of the furniture at Furnitureland South comes in performance fabric, which can hold up against even the stickiest of little fingers. Even moms get to have white furniture! Moochee helped guide me to the best options with performance fabric and I’m feeling so hopeful for the future of my home!

Design consultants have access to various resources that can help them customize your room design. Yep, they don’t just help you pick out furniture. They can help design the entire room surrounding that furniture!

I brought my house plans and pictures of my bedroom with me to Furnitureland South and together, Moochee and I reviewed them and drew up some ideas for a new bed and night stands. He walked me through suggestions for wall color, curtains, and rugs as well!

There’s zero pressure!

My favorite (and most unexpected) part of working with a free design consultant? There was NO pressure. Listen, I’m a 30 year old mom and business owner. I’m not a customer who can waltz into Furnitureland South and purchase what I want without stressing over the pricetag. I have a budget, and truthfully, it’s probably much smaller than most others.

I worried that I would feel pressure to purchase when I wasn’t ready, or that my budget wouldn’t be respected. I had the complete opposite experience.

Moochee didn’t so much as scoff at my budget. He encouraged me that there were plenty of options for me. He only showed me pieces that were within that range, and even took me through the outlet where the furniture is even more affordable.

I wasn’t ready to make any decisions that day. I took pictures and wanted to go home to Harrison to discuss our options. I didn’t feel any pressure whatsoever to pull out my credit card and I was very thankful for that!
