Who’s up for an adventure? Leland has some great kayaking and canoeing access points, with Cypress Cove being our personal favorite. There are many kayak rental companies in the neighboring city of Wilmington. Mahanaim Adventures is a small, family owned business that both rents kayaks and leads adventures through beautiful nearby creeks and rivers.
Visit Sandalwood Shoppes for access to more than 40 local artisans and retailers in one space. Roam the aisles and admire the hard work of local talent. You’re sure to find a perfect gift for yourself or a loved one!

A visit to Leland Cultural Arts Center will bring you straight to a hub providing local art, classes, performances, studios and more. There is always something exciting happening in these walls. In fact, on December 4th, the day Leland in Lights kicks off at night, there will be a Holiday Art Market from 10am to 3pm. Get some holiday shopping done and then head over to Founder’s Park to participate in the illumination celebration!
