The light display program in Founders Park kicks off on Dec. 4, 2021, with a free, family-friendly celebration featuring warm drinks, sweet treats, train rides through the lights, and Santa. This event is a community benefit and is considered a best-kept secret for thousands of families that make their way through Leland for the Christmas season. Read more about this celebration.

What are the dates and times for the Christmas lights display?
The lights display kicks off on December 4, 2021, and end January 10, 2022.
Where will the Christmas light display take place?
The lights display will take place in Founder’s Park at 113 Town Hall Dr., Leland, NC 28451.
What is the cost of the Christmas lights display?
No cost to attend, this event is free.
What kind of family-friendly activities will there be at the lights display?

On December 4th, at the Grand Illumination, families can witness the entire Leland in Lights display go live for the 2021 holiday season. Children will have the opportunity to write a letter to Santa, visit Santa’s workshop, and take a photo with him. There will also be train rides through the park and light display on the brand new Leland Express.

The Leland in Lights display will be up December 4 – January 9, with lights on at sunset each evening.

On December 11, Movies in the Park series will feature Elf at Founders Park, with the Leland in Lights display twinkling in the background.

Two Jingle Jogs (running group meet-ups for all paces) will happen December 12 and January 5 at 5:30pm.

Can we bring food and drinks?
The public can bring food and drinks.
Will there be food and drinks available for purchase?

On December 4th, there will be food trucks:  Brown Dog Coffee and Momma Rocks Desserts.

Is there parking available?
Yes, parking is available on-site.
Will there be seating?
There are benches throughout the display, allowing visitors to rest and enjoy the lights.
Will there be bathrooms?
Yes, bathrooms are available on site.
