In an NC Eat & Play Instagram poll, we asked followers to vote on their favorite rooms from Furnitureland South. Within minutes, votes started coming in with clear favorites on style and a few surprises. Let’s examine how well our followers matched up with NC Eat & Play’s Founder, Megan Nichols’ choices.
Overall, followers loved the light and bright rooms from Furnitureland South
There’s no denying that light and bright rooms were a clear favorite. Like our followers, Megan loves light and neutral tones, but she also leans towards moodier tones to add contrast and soulfulness to a room’s overall look.
The large light coffee table paired with the stone vases is a great example of mixing neutral with moody tones. The darker tones in the vases complement and bring out deeper tones in the wood grain and hardware of the table. Everything remains neutral but also provides a nice visual contrast to the room.
And if you’re worried (like I am as a mom of two young boys) about lighter fabric choices, the design experts at Furnitureland South can help you find the right performance fabrics to achieve the look and functionality you need for everyday living.
The Design Center at Furnitureland South is like no other.
You can schedule a meeting with a design consultant to review fabric choices. This video helps showcase Furnitureland South’s world-class Design Center. Experienced design consultants will help you plan and coordinate pieces for you. Megan will be sharing her design consultant experience in an upcoming blog.
Followers liked warm and cool tones for a beach house bedroom.
Surprisingly, followers slightly outvoted a more classic light and airy beach bedroom look for a warm wood choice paired with white storage furniture. Megan loves this look, too!
The mix of cool and warm tones can help a room feel put together and livable. Megan shares, “Sometimes I think too much matchy-matchy can feel overdone or even underdone. When I see a room that has pieces that add warmth like deeper wood grains it just feels cozier and lived in to me vs something too perfect to relax in. But too much warmth can feel too outdated as well. The balance of white furniture and bedding help keep this room fresh and inviting.”
Furnitureland South just opened a new Retreat Gallery filled with plenty of vacay inspo

Followers loved mixing chairs in dining rooms
This vote wasn’t even close. NC Eat & Play followers love mixing chairs in dining rooms. This is a style that isn’t going away. There is a lot to like about this room inspiration. We love the black chairs paired with the sleek, warm wood table. Mixing hard wood with softer fabric choices is a great contrast as well.

We even had a game selection to vote on.
Honestly, this is a no-brainer vote. Of course, when you think of a foosball table, you think of little guys to spin and kick the ball, right? The modern take (pictured at the bottom) is cool, but maybe not as fun-feeling as the teammates all moving around chasing the ball.
Furnitureland South has a whole gallery of home entertainment that you don’t want to miss out on. It’s the perfect “extra” reason to visit with a spouse who may not be into furniture like you might be.
And on that note, thanks to everyone who participated in the poll. We’ll have more room inspirations to choose from in the coming months.
