I’m finishing up my Invisalign process with Khara Orthodontics (one of the best decisions I’ve ever made!) and I learned a few things during my journey towards a happier smile.
I wasn’t really sure what to expect with Invisalign, but I was thrilled to partner with Dr. Khara and his staff because I’ve been self conscious about my teeth for over 10 years. My story is much like many others: I had braces as a preteen and didn’t do a good enough job wearing my retainers. As an adult, my teeth were right back to being crowded and crooked.
Working with Khara Orthodontics provided me with the smile I’ve been dreaming of for the last decade and I couldn’t be happier with the results! A lot of people have been asking me about the process and I’m happy to share some of the most important things I’ve learned.
Invisalign isn’t invisible…
Sorry, folks. Invisalign isn’t completely invisible. However, it’s much less noticeable than typical braces and they pretty much appear invisible unless you’re viewing them up close.
Your teeth with require little attachments on them for the trays to adhere to. These attachments are the color of your teeth and the amount you might need varies by each customer. I had to have an attachment on almost every tooth but I really didn’t mind. As you can see in the above photo, my Invisalign is not invisible, but it’s also not very noticeable!
You better be disciplined!
Invisalign requires a lot of self-discipline. You’ll need to remember to wear your trays as often as possible–basically constantly unless you’re eating. I was extremely determined to not repeat the mistakes of my 13 year old self, and I’m proud to say I’ve grown up a lot since then! Thirty year old Megan wore her trays religiously and the result was worth it. If self discipline isn’t a strength of yours (which is completely okay!), Dr. Khara offers braces as well.
Invisalign is fast and efficient.
Every smile is different, but as a general rule, invisalign works very quickly! I saw noticeable results in my smile within a month, and LOVED my smile within three months. I started wearing trays in August and my teeth were done shifting by January. Isn’t that wild!? To be clear, that didn’t mean I was finished with the process. I still had to wear retainers all day for a couple months, and then at night for life.
My biggest insecurity with my smile was the crowding in my bottom teeth. It was very distracting and noticeable in pictures, videos, and when talking to people. Invisalign straightened those teeth up so quickly, I was shocked!
Khara Orthodontics is worth the drive.
Dr. Khara has locations in Morrisville and Holly Springs. As a Wake Forest resident, this required me to drive about 45 minutes to the Morrisville location for each appointment, and I’d do it again and again. I truly can’t speak highly enough about the team at Khara Orthodontics.
Dr. Khara is so friendly and knowledgeable–I was in great hands with him. His staff members were all extremely welcoming and good at their jobs as well. They were attentive and explained each step of the process in detail. I definitely believe they go above and beyond for their patients, I wouldn’t say that about many other healthcare offices I’ve visited.
You’ll love Invisalign with Khara Orthodontics!
I imagine you’re tired of looking at close-ups of my teeth now, right? I’ll leave you with this piece of advice: If you’re interested in Invisalign, make an appointment with Dr. Khara. You’ll be so glad you did!
