Grab your friends and family, a blanket and some lawn chairs, and join us for the best picnic you’ll ever attend. Chefs will be teamed up with a farmer or an artisan to create small bites at tasting stations throughout the beautiful grounds of Daniel Stowe Botanical Garden. Sip and nibble while enjoying the band or while strolling through the garden.
Why is this event important?
• North Carolina has lost over 40,000 farms since 1974. The average farmer is more than 58 years old. CEFS is the Carolina’s leading resource to inspire and train a new generation of farmers in sustainable methods.
• The pandemic had a devastating impact on local restaurants due to reduced demand, labor challenges and operational costs. PCG connects chefs and farmers to share resources and promote educational opportunities to build the local food economy.
Net proceeds from sponsorships of the Picnic benefit agriculture and food system training programs. Our community will benefit from an improved local food system and better access to healthy, local food.
