It looks like we’re in for another cold, freezing, snow-ish weekend. You know what that means, it’s comfort food for all around!
Unfortunately, I won’t be heading off to Charlotte again this weekend and dining at one of my new favorite spots, Haberdish- a Southern Milltown Kitchen & Craft Bar.

I absolutely loved dining there as a guest a couple of weeks ago, but nothing says I can’t stay inspired by their southern creations, amirite?
If you’re snowed-in or just aren’t venturing out this weekend, I hope to spark meal ideas in your kitchen. If you’re planning on going to Charlotte soon, make sure to check out Haberdish.
These shrimp & grit cakes are road trip-worthy!
Not a big fan of grits? The horror!
No worries, these pan-fried grits serve as a crispy platform holding up deliciously seasoned shrimp, loaded with ham and pickled collards sauced in maple chipotle dressing. OOOEMMMGEEE!
Cinnamon Roll with Milk Caramel Dip
Jumping ahead, because why not?
This decadent cinnamon roll is the perfect cold winter friend. I wonder how many of you are pausing on this photo?
Keep staring. It’s okay!
Fried chicken, my friends.
There’s just something so amazing about southern fried chicken. Haberdish does not disappoint! Their chicken is fried to perfection.
Want to take your fried chicken up a notch or two? Haberdish offers lots of sauce options including Nashville hot.
On the side, but certainly just as important, are their sweet potato dumplings. Haberdish tosses theirs in savory brown butter, sage, mascarpone, and parmesan. Can I get a hallelujah, please?
Can I just move in for Mac & Cheese?
Look, I know I’m inspiring quite the homebound menu here, but there’s gotta be room for mac & cheese.
Haberdish knocks it out of the park with its mac & cheese topped with spicy crispy chicken skins. You read that correct- topped with crispy chicken skin!
Tater tots
Don’t even think you’re going to make it through a southern meal without a fried potato of some sort.
Haberdish’s tots are a great compliment to any dish.
Don’t forget the cocktails or mocktails!
Whichever you prefer.
