Finding hot flavors in Cary, North Carolina.
If you’re on the hunt for flavor AND experience, visit So Hot in Cary. They joined the triangle food scene in 2019 and I am so glad that they did. I had never tried authentic hot pot before, and I am now completely sold on both the concept and the taste!
A traditional Chinese meal that dates back over 1,000 years, hot pot allows you to customize your experience by cooking raw meats, veggies, noodles, and more in a pot of boiling broth at your own table. The sizzling broth loads your food up with so much flavor in just a few minutes (or with some food-seconds)! We chose the tri pot option which allowed us to try three different kinds of broth. I found the spicy beef broth to be the most flavorful but also the spiciest by far. If you’re a wimp when it comes to spice, you may want to skip this one. We also enjoyed both the traditional and chicken broths.
Some of the food that we ordered and loved was spicy beef, dumplings, pork, and udon noodles. The sweet buns were also perfect for finishing off the meal with something a little sugary.
If you are a newbie to hot pot like me, they give you a guide of how long to cook each item in the broth. I found it to be helpful and easy to understand.
Lastly, they have a custom sauce bar where you can create your own delicious sauces to dip your food in!
So Hot is the perfect establishment to visit if you want to spice up your routine!
- The ingredients are all you can eat, so try a good variety! My favorite broths are the spicy beef and original. As for ingredients, I loved all of the meats, bok choy, and the udon noodles.
- The sauces! Their sauce bar is amazing and it’s fun to create different kinds of flavors.
