Smith’s Smokehouse & Smoothies is a veteran-owned barbecue restaurant specializing in Texas-style meats smoked low and slow for 10-15 hours and decadent smoothies.

Smith’s joined the Wake Forest food scene after gaining a large local following with their pop-ups at various events across the Raleigh area. Growing up in Wake Forest, I desperately wanted a great spot to order some smoked brisket and southern sides and I’ve been so happy to finally have one up the street.

Meet the couple behind the Smokehouse.
Rashad and Saadia Smith are absolute bright lights in our local community. They are passionate about their business, family, and values which is evident from the moment you walk in the front door.

Their excitement over their craft is infectious and it’s truly wonderful to see this family-owned business thriving in my hometown.
Let’s talk about the food at Smith’s Smokehouse & Smoothies.
Smith’s Smokehouse & Smoothies brings Texas-style smoked meats to an area that is most popular for its Eastern North Carolina vinegar-style ‘cue. It stands out with its bold menu that shows locals it’s okay to embrace more than one style of barbecue! (Ahem, I’m talking to you, dad.)

My personal favorite menu items are the brisket (obviously), pulled pork sandwich, and their famous macaroni and cheese which is unlike any I’ve ever tasted before with it’s surprisingly sweet flavor. You’ll love it.

Smoothies? At a Smokehouse?
You may not immediately think of smoothies when considering what pairs nicely with barbecue, but as I mentioned before, Smith’s Smokehouse is bold.

Their refreshing dessert smoothies range in flavors such as banana pudding and blueberry cobbler. I love the strawberry shortcake which uses Saadia’s homemade pound cake mixed into a fruity smoothie!
