We recommend
- Since we’re focused on Salt & Lime’s healthier options here, we recommend these three popular dishes.
- Ask for options. The staff is super generous in helping you choose variations to achieve both flavor and calorie goals.
- Ask about specials. The restaurant plays up seasonal locally-sourced ingredients, which allow them to be creative with new dishes.
Ya’ll, if you’re looking for a healthier alternative right now to order from, try this place.
Raleigh’s Salt & Lime Cabo Grill, located over on Falls of Neuse Road, is a locally-owned restaurant that offers flavor-packed Baja-inspired dishes you can feel good about. Go ahead and catch some SoCal vacay “feels” while you eat.
Megan shares, “I can honestly tell you that each of these does NOT sacrifice flavor a bit. No bland food here, folks. I’d never allowed it.”
First up, Salt & Lime Cabo Grill’s caramelized mango salad with shrimp (can also be ordered with no protein, or grilled chicken).
This salad is bursting with flavor and texture. You’ve got sweet & spicy mangos, marinated cranberries, spiced pumpkin seeds, red onions, and a champagne vinaigrette. I LOVE how this restaurant nails the balance between sweet and spicy in their dishes.
Next, the Surf & Turf burrito is one of their most popular menu dishes.
You can also order it in bowl form and skip the big flour tortilla. This plate is packed with steak, shrimp, rice, grilled onions, cheese, chipotle cream (amazing), pico, queso fresco, black beans, Baja crema, and cilantro. See what I mean about not sacrificing flavor?!
Last, we’ve got Salt & Lime Cabo Grill’s avocado tomato salad with salmon.
You and easily order with no protein or skirt steak. Loaded with fresh avocados, cherry tomatoes, roasted corn, red onion, queso fresco, tortilla strips, and lime-cilantro vinaigrette. LOVE this dressing!
“If you’re in the Raleigh area, make sure to check out Salt & Lime Cabo Grill. Tell them NC Eat & Play motivated you to come in!” – Megan
LAST BITE: Local owners, Ken and Katie Smith created Salt and Lime Cabo Grill because they were inspired by their travels and affection for the cuisine glory between Southern California and Mexico. They love the distinctive Baja fresh flavors and wanted to share them with Raleigh. The restaurant is casual, but a sophisticated dining experience. Great for business lunches, date nights, and social gatherings around its neighborhood margarita bar. Also, a go-to brunch spot, for sure! See COVID policies to stay informed and safe.
