We are often asked about our favorite patios in Raleigh so we’ve decided to compile them into a guide for you! The NC Triangle has an abundance of restaurants with charming outdoor dining options that provide a beautiful atmosphere.
From rooftop gardens to southern porches, this list is full of patios that will take your dining experience to the next level.
As always, we are only including restaurants we have personally tried. If we missed your favorite, comment to let us know! We are always adding to our blogs as we test out your recommendations!
You’ll love these patios in Downtown Raleigh.
Wye Hill
Wye Hill is a fabulous restaurant and brewery with perhaps the most beloved view in the area. Located on Boylan Bridge, Wye Hill provides an unmatched view of the Raleigh skyline from their patio.
Wye Hill is also known for their craft beer and appetizers. The brussels sprouts and pimento cheese are both perfection!
Taverna Agora
Taverna Agora boasts one of the most charming patios I’ve ever dined on. Their rooftop garden terrace is a dream and makes for the perfect girl’s brunch or date night.
Taverna Agora serves Mediterranean cuisine and feels like being transported to a village in Greece. We love the pita with hummus, lemon soup, and chicken Mykonos pasta.
Jolie
Jolie brings a stunning French bistro with a rooftop patio to Downtown Raleigh and it is one of my favorite restaurants in the Triangle. The patio is beautiful and the food is exceptional–right down to something as simple as the butter!
Mulino Italian Kitchen & Bar
Mulino‘s patio is one of the most unique and enchanting in North Carolina. You’d be hard-pressed to find another patio that resembles the rustic, romantic, poolside dining at Mulino.
Cortez
Cortez is a tropical little oasis in downtown Raleigh serving up chef-driven small plates and seafood. The food is incredible and the vibe is hard to beat. The GAMBAS AL AJILLO ( shrimp in a garlic-butter lemon sauce served with a toasted baguette) is a 5 star dish everyone needs to try.
More great outdoor dining in Raleigh and beyond:
East End Bistrot
East End Bistrot is one of the best new restaurants to grace the Raleigh food scene and our team can’t get enough of it. An upscale French bistro that feels modern, eclectic, and romantic inside and out. The patio is clean and inviting, and you won’t find a better ribeye!
Salt & Lime Cabo Grill
Salt & Lime is a favorite among our followers, but many don’t realize they have patio seating at both of their Raleigh locations! In addition to great Baja style food and drinks, you can eat outside among the palm trees.
V Pizza
V Pizza is an incredible Neapolitan pizza restaurant serving high quality food with ingredients imported straight from Italy. Both their Cary and Raleigh locations have expansive patios and connected cocktail bars. Enjoy some wood-fired pizza and wings in the fresh air and wash it all down with a craft cocktail.
MC Restaurant
I sing MC Restaurant’s praises to anyone who will listen. I genuinely think it’s one of the most enchanting and impressive restaurants around. Upscale Asian cuisine is served in a historic home in downtown Cary. Guests can dine outside on the porch or in the garden. Dreamy, right?
Merritt’s Grill
Merritt’s Grill is a Chapel Hill institution for a two reasons: the out-of-this-world BLT sandwiches and the large patio. Tables covered with bright red umbrellas seat patrons as they indulge on sandwiches worth writing home about.
OSHA Thai Kitchen and Sushi
OSHA, located in Holly Springs, serves outstanding Thai food and colorful, flavorful sushi. The outdoor seating is modern and beautiful, lined with potted flowers underneath string lights.
Get Outside!
I hope this blog inspires you to ask for patio dining next time you’re at a restaurant that offers outdoor seating. It truly enhances the experience, especially when the patios are as enchanting as the ones listed in this guide!
