With a festive vibe, unforgettable Mexican dishes, and unique Instagram-worthy cocktails, La Mala is a Durham restaurant anyone would enjoy.
The owner of the ever-popular La Santa in Downtown Raleigh brought another Mexican eatery to the Triangle with La Mala in the heart of Durham. Fans of La Santa will be happy to find similar authentic flavors and an inviting atmosphere at this newer concept.
I had the pleasure to visit and taste some of their most ordered dishes and I was blown away by my experience! Every detail in this restaurant has been carefully designed to fit the vibrant, eclectic vibe that attracts visitors looking for a fun atmosphere.
In addition to the pretty design, La Mala serves impressive Mexican dishes.
Brunch is served Friday, Saturday, and Sunday and includes a menu of casual classics with a latin twist and cocktails. My absolute favorite brunch dish was the Tres Leches French Toast! Brioche bread, house made batter, lechera, almonds, and berries come together to make this mouthwatering plate you won’t soon forget!
The experience certainly doesn’t stop with brunch. La Mala serves a dinner menu as well. From ceviche to tacos, the food is truly delicious and plated beautifully. Pair your order with a creative cocktail or mocktail and I’m confident you’ll love it as much as I did!
One tip for new visitors: La Mala is located in Downtown Durham where parking can be a bit tricky. It took me some time to find street parking close by. Between the street and parking decks, you”ll certainly find a spot, but you may want to leave yourself some extra time to search!
Have you tried out La Mala yet? If not, I really think you’re going to enjoy it!
