- Fried Chicken and Waffles- This is a given. They’re known for and it’s amazing. However, if you’re the kind of poor, unfortunate soul that isn’t into waffles with your chicken (ahem, dad), getting the fried chicken on its own is a great choice too.
- Sides- Buttermilk biscuits, pimento mac and cheese, and mashed potatoes and gravy. I can never decide between these sides, so I always order a plate of sides to go with my chicken and waffles. I’m a fixin’s girl and this place does them right.
- Hot Chicken Sandwich- I can’t personally vouch for this one but I’ve heard from many friends and internet reviews that it’s outstanding and has a kick that’s not for wimps. Carolina reaper chili oil makes this chicken burn so good (or so I hear– call me a wimp).
Beasley’s Chicken and Honey is one of Ashley Christensen’s most successful restaurants. As a renowned chef, she brings Raleigh a concept that is both modern and classic in its preparations and flavors.
I didn’t try chicken & waffles until I was 21 and I’ve spent the last 5 years trying to make up for that lost time. It’s such a perfect combination of sweet, savory and melt in your mouth goodness. Thankfully, Beasley’s has given me a place to fill that void. Everything that I have tried from here has been delectable. The interior is rustic yet refined and your drinks are brought to you in mason jars. It’s truly a piece of the south brought to you in the heart of downtown Raleigh.
